Privacy policy

Lithos is a site that publishes written guides. It is a set of static pages: there is no account system, no login, no sign-up form and no newsletter box anywhere on it. We collect as little as a website can, and the sensitive things — anything to do with your money — we never touch at all.

What we never collect

We do not ask for, store, or have any way of obtaining the password to your PayPal, bank, exchange or wallet. There is nothing on this site to type them into. There is no registration, no account and no login box. If you write to us by email, the only thing we see is the text you chose to type, along with whatever your own mail provider puts in the header — nothing more.

Analytics and the fonts these pages load

At the moment no analytics or measurement script loads on these pages. If we add one later it will be a privacy-minded tool that reports aggregates only — how many times a guide was opened, roughly which country or region readers came from — and never anything that identifies you personally; while it is switched off, not a single line of measurement code is loaded. Separately, our stylesheet does pull web fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser makes a request to Google's font servers when a page loads, and Google sees that request the way it sees any font request, including your IP address. That is the one third-party resource these pages load by default. Everything else — the CSS and the small script that opens the menu — is served from our own domain.

Cookies

The site reads perfectly well without any tracking cookie: we set none of our own for advertising or profiling, and there is nothing here that follows you around the web. Should we ever turn on the analytics described above, or should a third-party embed appear in a guide, those services may set cookies under their own rules. We do not build advertising profiles from cookies, and we do not sell or share data for that purpose.

The invite code and the one link that carries it

Some of what we point to is commercial, and we label it. On these English pages that comes down to two things. First, an OKX invite code, OK0088, which appears as plain copyable text — including in a block on the English home page. A code you type in yourself is just a string; copying it involves no tracking on our side. Second, one sign-up link that carries that code, which sits in the body of our OKX invite code article and nowhere else — not in a menu, a footer or a list page. If you follow that link and register, OKX may record that you arrived from us so the referral can be credited, and that step happens on OKX's systems under OKX's own privacy policy, not ours. Every other outbound link on these pages is an ordinary reference link with no referral parameter attached. The full arrangement is set out on our disclosure page.

Where you go after you leave

Once you leave Lithos and land on another company's website, their terms and their privacy policy govern what happens next — ours stop at our own domain. So when you arrive somewhere new, it is worth reading that site's policies for yourself.
