Who we are
Lithos is written by a small group of people who have spent years on the receiving end of cross-border payments: freelancers and small sellers in regions where PayPal has been restricted or absent. We've waited on holds, lost money to bad exchange rates, been pitched every "verified account" scam going, and slowly worked out what actually works. This site is that hard-won knowledge, written down.
We publish under the name Lithos Editorial rather than personal bylines. Some of our contributors still freelance in markets where being publicly associated with money-movement advice isn't worth the risk, so we keep the team out of the spotlight and put our standards in it instead. If you ever need to reach a human, our contact page goes to a real inbox we read.
Why we exist
If you search for how to get paid in a restricted region, you mostly find two things: forum threads with half-true tips, and listings from people who want to sell you an account or "cash out" your balance. Neither is written to protect you. We wanted a third option: plain, current, honest information that treats getting paid as a practical problem with real trade-offs, not a sales funnel.
How we check our facts
Payout rules move fast, especially PayPal's. So we hold ourselves to a few rules:
- Every guide carries a "last reviewed" date. If it's stale, you can see that at a glance.
- We re-check high-traffic guides quarterly, and sooner when something big changes (like PayPal's 2026 moves in Nigeria).
- We give ranges, not false precision. Fees and exchange rates differ by country and day, so we describe the shape of the cost and tell you to confirm the live figure on the provider's own site.
- We don't invent numbers. Where we're unsure, we say so. Where a rule may have changed, we flag it rather than state it as fact.
- We keep information separate from anything commercial: the one commercial link on these English pages is labelled where it sits, not folded into the advice around it.
Where the commercial links are
Plainly: these English pages carry an OKX invite code, OK0088, and one sign-up link that carries it. The code appears as copyable plain text, including in the home page header. The link appears once, in the body of our OKX invite code article — not in a menu, a footer or a list page. Register through it and OKX pays us a referral fee; you normally pay no more than someone who signed up with no code, and the discount you get is whatever OKX’s current promotion says, not a number we control. Every other outbound link here is an ordinary reference link with no referral parameter attached. We are not FCA-authorised, so nothing on these pages is an approved financial promotion for UK consumers. Our disclosure page sets out the whole arrangement.
What we will never do
We don't give investment advice, predict prices, promise returns, or tell you to trade. We don't pretend to be any company we mention or imply an official relationship. We cover one thing: getting money you've already earned safely into your hands.
